From the January, 2025 issue:

So, the County Commissioners want us to be
“reasonable.” If you want to know what that means,
they will tell you.

The County Commissioners also want us to be
“safe.” They will tell you what that means, too.

How do we know they are right, and we are wrong?
Well, “the codes,” you know. They base their
decisions on “the codes.”

Where do these “codes” come from? You know, the
international uniform commercial code, the
international electric code, the International fire
code, etc. Well, of course, “the codes” come from
“the internationals.”

These “internationals” must be really smart people
who know how to find the experts that can write the
codes.

Who are these “experts,” by the way? Are they
Americans?

Well, some of them are. A lot of them are European
and some from other countries that belong to the
UN. That’s why the codes are “international.”

Get it?

How do they come up with these “codes”?

Well, they study products. Who makes these
products? Well, of course, the “international”
corporations. They want to sell their products
“internationally.” That’s why it’s all “international.”

Whew. That was a long train of logic. I’m glad our
County Commissioners are “international” and that
they are trying hard to make Benewah County
international, too.

We want to be like Europe and California. They
have a lot of international codes and lead the world in codes.
