To understand the conflicted Donald Trump, you must understand Peter Navarro and “the American System” as devised by the first generation of nationalists who followed the Founding Fathers: John Quincy Adams, Henry Clay, and Daniel Webster. If fell out of favor during the Jacksonian Era, but not entirely given up. It was revived by Abraham Lincoln.

Navarro has the attention of one ear of the President, while the other is being pulled by the Zionists.

Politics is rarely rational but if you want an interesting take on Kentucky’s repudiation of Sen. Massie (the home of Henry Clay) listen to this short explanation:

You must also understand that the first national bank was originally conceived to make the U.S. Treasury the “bank of issue.” It was hijacked to become a Trojan Horse for British corporate interests. That is the part that Jackson got right. See Ellen Brown’s Web of Debt for the whole story.

Addendum: From Wikipedia sources: Henry Clay’s American System was a 19th-century economic plan designed to make the U.S. economically self-sufficient and unify its distinct regions. It featured three mutually reinforcing pillars: a protective tariff to shelter domestic industry, a national bank to foster commerce, and federally funded infrastructure (or “internal improvements”).
