I remember waking up many a cold morning, snuggled under the covers until Dad built a fire in the stove. Heck, I even remember when a crack in the wall brought an inch of snow into the living room one winter. Child abuse? Come on, people. The burdens of an independent existence make us tough and willing to fight for our freedom. Just because a child gets to watch afternoon cartoons and get fat from eating too many Twinkies doesn’t mean he is better off. Chopping firewood instead of cartoons and eating home cooked pancakes instead of Pop Tarts make for better childhood experience. If anything, it makes us appreciate it when times get “better.”
The Fourth Amendment guarantees the citizen to be “secure in his home.” Zoning and building codes violate our constitutional rights.
